Data analytics from source to dashboard

Pipelines that bring your app, payment, sales and ad data into one warehouse, with dashboards built on top.

Data services we build

Six ways we turn the data your business already has into numbers people use, from the first pipeline to the dashboard inside your product.

  1. 01 / 06

    Data pipelines

Every system's data brought into one place on a schedule: your app's database, payments, sales and ad tools.

    • Connectors for databases, SaaS tools and APIs
    • Loads on a schedule, or as events arrive
    • Retries, and an alert when a source fails
    • Every load tested before it lands
  2. 02 / 06

    Data warehouse and modelling

One warehouse on BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks or PostgreSQL, the raw data modelled into tables people can query.

    • The warehouse sized to your volume and budget
    • Models in dbt, kept in your repository
    • Each metric defined once, and documented
    • Tests on every model, on every run
  3. 03 / 06

    Off spreadsheets and old warehouses

Reports that live in spreadsheets, or a warehouse nobody trusts, moved to the new one with the numbers checked against the old.

    • Every report and its sources listed first
    • Old and new run side by side
    • Totals reconciled before the switch
    • History kept, nothing lost
  4. 04 / 06

    Dashboards and reporting

Dashboards in Power BI, Looker or Metabase, built around the decisions each team makes, and the weekly report sent without anyone building it.

    • Built around decisions, not tables
    • Each KPI's definition one click away
    • Scheduled reports by email or Slack
    • Each team sees what it should
  5. 05 / 06

    Product analytics

A tracking plan, the events wired into your web and mobile apps, and the funnels and retention that show what people do in your product.

    • A tracking plan agreed before any code
    • Events in web, iOS and Android, named one way
    • Funnels, retention and experiments
    • On PostHog, Mixpanel or your own warehouse
  6. 06 / 06

    Analytics inside your product

Dashboards and reports your customers see inside your product, each customer seeing only their own data.

    • Charts in your app's own design
    • Each customer's data kept apart
    • Exports and scheduled reports for your customers
    • Fast at your customers' scale

Our data analytics process

Six steps from the first audit to numbers your teams use every day, with a working dashboard early on.

  1. 01Scope

Your business questions, the metrics that answer them, and every system that holds data.

  2. 02Plan

Architecture, data model and metric definitions agreed, with dashboard drafts and an estimate that names the dates.

  3. 03Pipelines

Your data pulled into one warehouse on a schedule, with quality checks on every load.

  4. 04Dashboards

Reports and self-serve dashboards, with forecasts where they help.

  5. 05Launch

Numbers checked against ones you already trust, and your teams trained to use them.

  6. 06Maintain

Usage reviewed, new questions answered, and the pipelines kept running.

Data analytics features

The same eight things in every pipeline, warehouse and dashboard we build, so the numbers hold up when someone asks where they came from.

Tests on every run

Every load and model tested for duplicates, gaps and totals, and bad data held back, not shown.

Each metric defined once

Revenue, active users and churn mean one thing, written down, wherever they appear.

Freshness you can see

Every dashboard says when its data last arrived, and someone hears about it when it's late.

Every number traced

Any figure can be followed back through its models to the system it came from.

Access by role

Each team and customer sees the rows it should, enforced in the warehouse, not only on screen.

Personal data protected

Emails, names and card details masked or kept out of reach, to GDPR.

Costs kept in check

Warehouse and tool spend watched from the first load, with a monthly budget and an alert before it's passed.

Yours to keep

Pipelines, models and dashboards in your accounts and your repository, documented so any team can take them over.

Questions about data analytics

What teams ask before they hand over their data, answered plainly.

Ask your own
What do your data analytics services include?

Whatever it takes to get from your systems to numbers people use: pipelines that bring each source's data into one warehouse, the models and metric definitions on top, dashboards and scheduled reports, product analytics in your apps, and analytics inside your own product. Most projects start with a data audit and one dashboard, and grow from there.

Do we need a data warehouse, or will our database do?

For a first dashboard your database often does, read from a replica so reports never slow the app. A warehouse earns its place when data comes from several systems, history needs keeping or queries get heavy — then BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks or PostgreSQL, sized to your volume and budget.

Should we use Power BI, Looker or Metabase, or build custom dashboards?

A licensed tool is usually right for internal dashboards: it's quicker to build and easier to change, and you may already pay for one. Custom dashboards make sense inside your product, where they have to look like the rest of it and each customer sees only their own data. Many projects use both.

Can you work with the tools and systems we already have?

Yes. We connect to the databases and the payment, sales, support and ad tools you run, and keep the warehouse or BI tool you already pay for where it fits. If something should change, you'll hear why and what it costs before anything moves.

How do you make sure the numbers are right?

Tests run on every load and every model — duplicates, gaps, totals that should match — and bad data is held back rather than shown. Each metric is defined once and written down, and before launch the new numbers are reconciled against your old reports.

What is product analytics, and how is it different from BI?

BI reports on the business — revenue, orders, costs — from the systems that run it. Product analytics follows what people do inside your app: which features they use, where they drop off, who comes back. It starts with a tracking plan and events wired into your web and mobile apps, and both can sit in the same warehouse.

Can our customers see analytics inside our product?

Yes. We build dashboards and reports into your app in its own design, or embed a BI tool, with each customer's data kept apart in the warehouse itself, not only on screen. Exports and scheduled reports can go to your customers too.

How do you handle personal and sensitive data?

Only the data a report needs is copied, personal fields like emails and names are masked or kept out of reach, and access is set by role in the warehouse. We work to GDPR, and to your sector's rules where they apply. An NDA is signed before we see any data.

Who owns the pipelines, the warehouse and the code?

Usually you do: for client work, everything runs in your cloud accounts and your tools, the code lives in your repository, and it's documented so your team or anyone else can take it over. Ownership is set out in our agreement. We can keep running it for you, but you're never locked in.

How much does it cost, and how long does it take?

It depends on how many sources there are, how clean their data is and what you need first. After a first call you get a written estimate with the scope, the price and the dates, and what the warehouse and tools would cost you to run.
